Dr. Yenal Ünal was born in 1981 in Ereğli, Konya. His main field of interest is the history of Turkey and the world in the context of the intellectual, cultural, and social developments of the 20th century.
He graduated from Ege University, Faculty of Letters, Department of History in 2004. In 2006, under the supervision of Ahmet Özgiray, he received his Master’s degree from the same university.
In 2012, he received his Ph.D. from Ankara University under the supervision of Kurtuluş Kayalı.
He also worked as a culture and tourism specialist at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism from 2005 to 2013.
Since 2013, he has continued his academic studies as the head of the History of the Republic of Turkey Division at the Faculty of Letters of Bartın University.
He received Associate Professor title in 2018. He has published dozens of articles in various academic journals and popular newspapers.
He continues to pursue his studies in the fields of democracy, culture, and the history of thought.
